Dyno test in BrasovYour car's power, measured, not estimated.
Your car runs on our Bapro dyno before any change and again after. You get the chart with both curves and the exact figures, corrected for atmospheric conditions.
Standalone dyno test: from 350 RON. Included in the chiptuning package.
What is a dyno test and why does it matter?
A dyno test (or dynamometer test) is the only accurate way to measure the real power and torque of your engine. Unlike software estimates or the figures in the technical manual, a dyno test shows you exactly how many horsepower and how many Nm of torque actually reach the wheels, under controlled and repeatable conditions.
At AMC Motorsport Brasov, every car that comes through our workshop is tested on the Bapro BPA-2R HP dyno before and after any work. We do not work on feeling, we work with real data.
You know exactly what gain you gotNot "roughly 30 HP", but with the graph in front of you, measured and verifiable
You check the health of the engineHidden problems (a "tired" turbo, worn injectors, pressure losses) show up on the graph before we start any work
You get a real baselineMany owners find out that their car produces less, or in some cases more, than the factory specification
How does a dyno test work at AMC?
You come at the booked time and the car goes straight onto the dyno. Before the first run we check the fluid levels and the general condition of the car. Then we strap it down with the driven axle on the rollers and switch on the fans in front, which cool the engine as on the road.
The first measurement is the baseline: 1-2 runs with the car exactly as it arrived. During these runs we also log the engine parameters (boost pressure, airflow, exhaust gas temperature, lambda), so we see not only how much power the engine makes, but how it makes it.
We go through the chart together, on screen: the power peak, the shape of the torque curve, any area that does not look right. You do not just get a PDF with no explanation.
If you came for chiptuning, after the calibration we do 2-3 more runs and overlay the curves, so you see the difference at every rpm, on the same chart. If you came only for the measurement, you leave with the chart and what it means.

The result of the session in the photos, stock and after Stage 1. Drag the cursor to see the difference at every rpm.
Peaks from the report: 283.8 → 358.2 HP, 450 → 642 Nm (+74.4 HP, +192 Nm). The curves are extracted from the Bapro PDF, so under the cursor they can read a few HP below the report peaks.
What does a dyno test report contain?
After every test on the Bapro dyno you receive a full report with two parts: the power and torque graph (Dyno Sheet) and real-time logging of the engine's operating parameters.
Dyno Sheet: the power and torque graph
The main document generated by the Bapro dyno. It contains the power (HP) and torque (Nm) curves against engine speed, together with all the technical data of the test:
Maximum crankshaft power: the peak value measured (e.g. 212.1 HP @ 4,077 rpm)
Maximum torque: the real tractive force (e.g. 431.0 Nm @ 2,402 rpm)
Vehicle data: model, displacement, fuel type, transmission type, drivetrain
Test conditions: temperature, atmospheric pressure, DIN 70020 correction factor
Identification: date, operator, test notes
The sheet in the image is from a BMW 520d F10 (163 HP stock), tested at Stage 1, with a result of 212.1 HP and 431 Nm.

Logging of operating parameters
In addition to the classic power graph, we monitor all the critical engine parameters in real time throughout the test. Here is a simpler practical example on a BMW 520d F10:
Boost pressure: the charge (turbo) pressure, which we check is within optimal limits
EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp): exhaust gas temperature, a critical safety indicator
Fuel pressure: fuel pressure (setpoint vs. actual), where we detect any limits of the system
Air mass & injection quantity: the amount of air and fuel per cylinder
Engine torque: the real torque reported by the ECU, correlated with the measurement on the dyno
The dashboard below shows the live logging of a BMW 520d F10 during a run on the dyno; each coloured curve is a parameter monitored in real time via OBD / Bosch EDC17C41.

Who is a dyno test useful for?
Before and after chiptuning
Want to know exactly how many horsepower you gained after an ECU remap? The dyno test gives you an objective answer, with before and after graphs overlaid.
Diagnosing problems
The car does not pull like it used to? A dyno test can reveal power losses caused by a worn turbo, a clogged DPF, an out-of-calibration MAF sensor, faulty injectors, etc.
Checking a used car
Want to buy a car and know whether the engine is healthy? A quick dyno test shows whether the car produces its factory power. Optionally, we can also offer advanced diagnostics to assess the car's technical condition as accurately as possible.
Racing projects
Working on a performance project? You need precise measurements after every modification: turbo upgrade, downpipe, intercooler, Stage 2.

Frequently asked questions about the dyno test
How much does a dyno test cost?
A simple dyno test starts from 350 RON: two measurements of wheel power and torque, with a chart and a report. If you have your car tuned with us, the before and after measurement is included in the price. For Stage 2 or racing projects, with several runs and adjustments on the dyno, a session starts from 500 RON. The exact price depends on the car and you get it when you book.
How long does a dyno test take?
A basic dyno test (power measurement) takes about 30 minutes, including preparation and interpretation of the results. If it is combined with chiptuning, the full session takes 1.5-2 hours on average.
Do I need to prepare my car for a dyno test?
No special preparation is needed. Make sure the car has enough fuel and that there are no obvious mechanical problems. We recommend arriving with the engine at normal operating temperature.
Can a dyno test damage anything on the car?
No. Testing on the dyno is equivalent to normal acceleration on the road. Maximum engine speeds are not exceeded. We have tested thousands of cars without a single incident.
Do you test all-wheel drive cars (AWD/4WD)?
On our Bapro BPA-2R HP dyno we measure front-wheel and rear-wheel drive cars. On Haldex all-wheel drive (4Motion on VW, Skoda, Seat and Cupra with a transverse engine, plus quattro on the Audi A3 and TT) we disengage the rear axle and measure on the dyno. On other all-wheel drive systems (Audi quattro on other models, BMW xDrive, Mercedes 4MATIC and others) we do not measure on the dyno; there we work with logs recorded on the road.
How accurate are the dyno measurements?
The Bapro dyno offers repeatability of +/- 1-2% between consecutive measurements. We use automatic atmospheric correction (temperature, humidity, pressure) so that results are comparable regardless of weather conditions.
Can I come just for a dyno test, without chiptuning?
Certainly. Many customers come just for a power measurement, out of curiosity, to diagnose a performance problem, or to check a car before buying it. There is no obligation to have chiptuning as well.
What do I get after the dyno test?
You receive a full report with the power and torque graph, the peak values and (if chiptuning was also done) the before vs after comparison with overlaid graphs. We explain on the spot what each part of the graph means.
Do I need to book a dyno test?
Yes, it is mandatory. You can contact us on WhatsApp or through the form on the website. Depending on the workload, we can sometimes accept walk-ins, but we do not guarantee immediate availability.
